SWIMCARE
KEEP THE FIT. KEEP THE COLOR. KEEP THE INSTINCT.
Good swimwear is made to move, get wet, dry, travel and start again.
A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple steps to help preserve the shape, color and feel of your MÏAU pieces over time.
RINSE AFTER EVERY SWIM
After swimming in the sea or pool, rinse your swimwear in clean, cool water as soon as possible.
Salt, chlorine, sunscreen and other external agents can affect swimwear fibers and color over time, so a quick rinse is the easiest habit to adopt.
WASH GENTLY
Hand wash your swimwear in cool water with a mild detergent.
Avoid aggressive detergents, bleach and fabric softener. For garments containing elastane, following the garment care label remains the safest rule. The LYCRA Company specifically recommends following the manufacturer’s care instructions for garments containing elastane.
DON’T WRING
Avoid twisting or wringing your swimwear.
Instead, gently press out excess water and reshape the garment before drying. This helps reduce unnecessary stress on the fabric. Speedo similarly recommends gently pressing water out rather than wringing swimwear.
DRY NATURALLY
Let your swimwear dry naturally, preferably flat and in the shade.
Avoid tumble drying, ironing or exposing the garment to high heat. Direct sunlight and heat can accelerate fading and affect elastane fibers over time.
WATCH THE SURFACES
Pool edges, stone benches, rough decking and other abrasive surfaces can catch or damage delicate swimwear fabrics.
When sitting on rough surfaces, use a towel whenever possible.
SUNSCREEN FIRST. SWIMWEAR SECOND.
Allow sunscreen and body products to absorb before putting on your swimwear when possible.
Sunscreen and lotions can interact with elastane and swimwear fabrics, especially over repeated use.
NEVER STORE IT WET
Do not leave your swimwear wet inside a bag or rolled inside a towel for long periods.
Let it dry fully before storing it. This helps preserve the garment and avoids prolonged moisture exposure.
THE QUICK VERSION
DO
- Rinse in cool fresh water after swimming
- Hand wash gently
- Use a mild detergent

- Bleach
- Tumble dry
- Iron

SWIM OFTEN?
If you wear swimwear frequently, alternating between several pieces can help reduce repeated stress on the same garment and give each one more time to dry fully between wears. Speedo also recommends rotating suits for frequent swimmers.
CARE FOR THE PIECE. KEEP THE MEMORY.
MÏAU pieces are designed to travel from water to city, from beach to terrace, from one summer to the next.
Treat them well, and let the patterns do the rest.
FROM WATER TO EVERYWHERE.
